<p>PURPOSE:To enhance the gap starting properties through a simple constitution and thus realize an assured half-wave extension, by starting the 2nd gap to flow a discharged current for a half-wave extension through a prescribed charging circuit after actuating the 1st gap. CONSTITUTION:A capacitor Cp performs a discharge with an actuation of the 1st gap Gp1, and thus the greater part of the discharged current flows along with a resistance Ro which gives a start to the 2nd gap Gp2 via a capacitor Co forming a time constant circuit to charge the circuit. As a result, the gap Gp2 has an assured start by a discharge according to the time constant of the capacitor Co after a prescribed time from the discharge of the gap Gp1. At the same time, the discharged current is supplied to a sample AC breaker Sp. Thus the gap starting properties can be enhanced through a simple constitution to ensure an assured half-wave extension of a breaker.</p> |
