PURPOSE:To enable the maintenance of the water content of fluid ink within a suitable range, by providing a humidifying means to maintain the water content of the ink. CONSTITUTION:When an ink transfer roller 1 rotates, ink 2 is applied in a prescribed layer thickness on the surface of the ink transfer roller 1 by a coating means 4, and it is transferred with the rotation of the ink transfer roller 1. In the case when the inside of an apparatus is dried, humidity is given by a humidifying means 15 so that the water content of the ink 2 can be maintained within a suitable range. The ink 2 formed on the surface of the ink transfer roller 1 is given an electric energy or the like in the shape of an image pattern by an energy impressing means 5 and an ink image 2a to which an adhesion is given by the energy is formed. The ink image 2a is transferred onto an intermediate transfer roller 6 and then transferred onto a medium 8 to be recorded which is conveyed between a transfer roller 7 and the intermediate transfer roller 6. Since the water content of the ink can be maintained in a prescribed range by the humidifying means, it is possible to prevent the ink from being dried up, to apply the ink on the ink transfer means in a stable manner and to attain recording stable in density and having a high picture quality. |
