Transfer press for producing aerosol containers - has separate hydraulic drive to each punch connected by self-aligning joint

The transfer press for manufacturing the bodies of aerosol containers or cans for drinks has five separate punches and dies (36). Each punch is connected by a self-aligning joing (38) to piston rods (39) of hydraulic jacks. The hydraulic jacks are mounted on the cross beam (25) which is supported by the side columns (24) of the press. Providing a separate hydraulic drive to each punch allows each punch and die to be set to much higher degree of accuracy than is possible with conventional transfer presses which use a common ram to carry all the punches. This is esp. useful when working with thin sheet metal.
