Transversal digital filter - uses triangular matrix of series adder subtractor stages to provide LSI filter

The digital filter of the transversal type is based upon a matrix of elements that allows ready construction of serial adder/subtraction functions in a form suited to large scale integration. The resulting circuit allows the centre frequency and the band width to be readily adjusted. Adder/subtractor modules are arranged in the form of a triangular matrix with inputs and controlled by signals applied to columns by a control stage. The binary input is processed by the stages to present the filtered output in a serial mode. The output stage responds to provide an output to a normalising stage.
