PURPOSE:To execute high speed continuous copying and copying of enlargement, reduction and movement with high accuracy by controlling a starting start position and a starting start timing of a sub-scanning unit by a position profile control. CONSTITUTION:When a copying operation is started, a sub-scanning unit 29 reads white reference data for shading correction at a point A, and thereafter, completes a movement to a point B by a speed profile control until a feed paper sensor 53 detects a print form. Said unit stops at the point B, and thereafter, starts to accelerate in accordance with a position profile control. The sub-scanning unit 29 executes a scan of a document 11 by the position profile control extending from a point C to a point D, and when it reaches the point D, it returns to the point A by the profile control. Therefore, an approach time and an approach distance of the sub-scanning unit can be known exactly, and even at the time of copying of enlargement, reduction, movement, etc., the portion accuracy of a copied image is high. |
