PURPOSE:To afford the subject product with non-shrinkability with high durability, by applying a shrink-resisting agent on animal fiber to form a resin film on the surface of said fiber followed by performing low-temperature plasma treatment with a nonpolymerizable gas to enhance the bond strength between said film and the fiber surface. CONSTITUTION:A shrink-resisting agent (e.g., polyurethane resin, urea resin, melamine resin) is applied on animal fiber such as wool, cashmere or Angola wool to form a resin film on the surface of said fiber. Thence, a low- temperature plasma treatment (e.g., glow discharge under a pressure of 0.01-10Torr) is performed on the resultant fiber in the presence of a non- polymerizable gas (e.g., air, oxygen, nitrogen, water vapor, argon, helium). |
