PURPOSE:To ensure clearness of the tone of a developed color, by producing a pressure-sensitive thermal recording material by providing a thermal recording layer comprising a specified leuco dye and a color developer as main constituents on one side of a base and providing a microcapsule-containing layer on the other side. CONSTITUTION:A thermal recording layer comprising a light-colored or colorless leuco dye and a color developer as main constituents is provided on the face side of a base, and a layer comprising microcapsule is provided on the back side of the base, to produce a pressure-sensitive thermal recording material. At least one leuco dye insoluble in a solvent contained in the microcapsules is incorporated in the thermal recording layer. Further, a leuco dye capable of being developed into a color with a toner different from that of the above- mentioned leuco dye through reacting with the color developer in the thermal recording layer, with the solvent contained in the microcapsules serving as a medium, is incorporated into one or both of the microcapsules and the thermal recording layer. |
