PURPOSE:To obtain the present coated paper having excellent surface strength, print gloss, inking properties, blister resistance, etc. and useful as a coat paper, by forming a pigment coated layer containing a specific copolymer latex on a basic paper. CONSTITUTION:An undercoating pigment coated layer containing (B) copolymer latex obtained by subjecting (i) 0.5-10wt.% ethylene based unsaturated carboxylic acid, (ii) 3-20wt.% vinyl cyanide, (iii) 20-40wt.% aliphatic conjugated diene and (iv) 30-76wt.% other copolymerizable monomer to emulsion polymerization and capable of providing 0-40wt.% toluene insoluble content by adjusting the latex to pH8 and solidifying the latex with isopropyl alcohol and drying the resultant solid product, at an amount of 3-30pts.wt. (as solid content) based on (C) 100pts.wt. pigment is formed on (A) basic paper and face coating pigment coated layers having on layer or two or more layer is formed thereon to provide the aimed coated paper. |
