摘要 PURPOSE:To improve the stability of waveforms regardless of temp. and the oxygen value of a molten iron by measuring the concn. of oxygen in the molten iron by means of a sensor which is formed with a coating layer contg. a specific binder on the outer peripheral face of a solid electrolyte element having oxygen ion conductivity. CONSTITUTION:A mixture composed of alpha-Al2O3, ZrO2 group and MgF2 and/or CaF2 is used as a coating agent. The ZrO2 group may be ZrO2 alone or any of stabilized zirconia such as ZrO2+MgO, ZrO2+CaO, ZrO2+Y2O3 and org. solvents of PVA (polyvinyl alcohol), acrylic acid system, etc., are used for the binder. The coating layer is formed on the surface of the solid electrolyte by dipping the solid electrolyte in the soln. of the above-mentioned Al2O3-ZrO2 mixture and drying the electrolyte naturally for >=6hr at room temp. The coated solid electrolyte is built into the sensor, by which the sensor for measuring the concn. of the oxygen in the molten iron is completed.
