PURPOSE:To industrially obtain the subject olisaccharide having antitumor effects, etc., with a high polymerization degree at a low cost, by cultivating a specific microorganism belonging to the genus Trichoderma and bringing the resultant chitinase into contact with an N-acetylchitooligosaccharide. CONSTITUTION:(A) A microorganism, belonging to the genus Trichoderma and having the ability to produce chitinase is cultivated in a nutrient culture medium to produce and accumulate the chitinase in a culture. The resultant chitinase is then collected, treated and then brought into contact with (B) a partial chitin hydrolyzate or N-acetylchitooligosaccharide in an aqueous solution to produce, accumulate and collect the title oligosaccharide in which one or more saccharides are transferred and added to N-acetylchitooligosaccharide in the raw material in the above-mentioned aqueous solution. Furthermore, e.g., Trichoderma.reesei KDD-10 (NRRL 15497), are preferably used as the above-mentioned microorganism. |
