PURPOSE:To obtain the sufficient electron emission characteristic in the high- current density for a long time by extracting at least the electron current from the region of a cathode extracting the radiation current and activating it. CONSTITUTION:During the activation process of a cathode, at least the electron current is extracted from the region of the cathode extracting the radiation current, and it is activated. The reaction generation object of barium silicate is not accumulated on the interface 11 or crystal grain boundary which is the connection face of a substrate metal 1 or a barrier through which a reducing metal such as silicone pass is eliminated unlike the conventional cathode for electron tube, the reduction reaction is stably performed, an intermediate layer material with a high-resistance value is not concentratively formed on the interface 11 between the substrate metal 1 and an electron emitting material layer 30. The invariably stable electron emission performance in the high-current density is thereby obtained. |
