A forward feed unit is provided, and has a stroke length which is altered by changes in level of the water to be limed, so that where the water level rises a greater amount of lime is issued, and where the water level drops the amount of lime fed is reduced. This controlled feed is produced by the rotary movements of a controlled feed wheel and a drive shaft which can be correspondingly longer or shorter. This involves a point on the level arm or the usage of the plate determining the extent of drop of the forward feed unit dependent upon the extent of water rise or drop. To the drive shaft are coupled stirring forks which simultaneously with the movement of the lime outward feed unit loosen and break up the lime in its container. |
