The printer comprises a frame 2 which supports an anvil consisting of a fixed counterplate 8 provided with an elastically acting paper press 12, and a printing head 22, movable along the anvil, in the vicinity of the paper press 12, as well as a housing surrounding the frame and having a paper exit slot allowing it to be cut off. According to the main characteristic of the invention, a paper guide 36 consisting of a bow is mounted on the frame opposite the paper press 12 in relation to the printing head 22 and extends along the path of the latter, so that tearing off the paper, with the housing removed, cannot damage the paper press 12 and/or the printing head 22. <IMAGE>
