PURPOSE:To obtain a zirconic light transmissible sintered body having always high light transmittivity conveniently and without paying attention to the quality of raw material powder by calcining the raw material powder by two stages under each specified condition in the stage of calcining a molded body of the powder raw material. CONSTITUTION:When a light transmissible zirconic sintered body is produced by the calcination of a molded body of raw material powder, the molded body is calcined previously at 1,200-1,550 deg.C for >=5hr (primary calcination), then it is calcined at >=1,650 deg.C (secondary calcination). It is preferred that the secon dary calcination is performed by elevating the temp. further after the primary calcination without performing cooling. Preferred zirconic sintered body is one having a compsn. within a range defined by titania/yttria/zirconia =(5-20)/(6-10)/(70-85)(mol.%). |
