PURPOSE:To shorten the switching time by changing the combination of abutting of connector ferrules which have been attached to the tip of an optical fiber. CONSTITUTION:In a state that positioning has been executed by connector supporting bases 51A, 51B of each connector ferrule 3A-3C, a switching work of a movement of a positioning pin 5, a parallel movement of the first connector ferrule 3A, etc. is executed, and also, a spring 7 which has been removed from both the first and the second connector ferrules 3A, 3B is attached again to both the first and the third connector ferrules 3A, 3C which have been connected newly. Accordingly, a fluctuation of a connection loss at the time of movement of the positioning pin 5 is reduced, and also, even after the positioning pin 5 has been shifted, axes of optical fibers in two connector ferrules 3A-3C can be held in a coincident state. In such a way, a substantial transmission cut-off time becomes roughly only during a linear parallel movement of the first connector ferrule, and the switching time can be shortened. |
