PURPOSE:To prevent the breakdown of an oriented film by using a cloth which is made by interweaving or planting conductive threads formed by projecting innumerable conductive fibers on the surface, as a rubbing material. CONSTITUTION:A piece of cloth (rubbing material) 6 which is wound round a roller 5 is made by weaving it with a conductive thread 7, and on the surface of this thread 7, innumerable conductive fibers 8 are projected and formed. That is, since the cloth 6 made by weaving the thread 7 is used as a rubbing material, static electricity generated at the time of rubbing is discharged instantaneously into the air from the tip part of the innumerable conductive fibers 8 projected from the surface of the thread 7, and the static electricity is scarcely electrified to the cloth 6. Accordingly, discharge of static electricity does not occur between the cloth 6 and a transparent electrode 2. In such a way, the breadown of an oriented film 3 caused by discharge is prevented surely. |
