PURPOSE:To surely prevent snaking of passed strip while preventing the development of contraction or buckling by inclining an auxiliary roll arranged at inlet side of passing roll for the strip, pushing the strip and regulating the position of the auxiliary roll to the specific range. CONSTITUTION:In a strip continuous line in a vertical furnace, the auxiliary roll 2 as tiltable is arranged at the inlet side of hearth roll 1. This auxiliary roll 2 is inclined to strip 3 width direction at angle theta, and by this roll, the strip 3 is pushed to right angle direction to the passing strip line. In the method for preventing the snaking in the continuous treating line for the above strip 3, the auxiliary roll 2 is pushed so as to satisfy the following condition. 5<=Y<=X<=12.5, 0.65<=Y/DH<=2.0, 0.07<=X/DH<=0.28 (wherein, DH: diameter of the hearth roll 1, X distance between axial center of the auxiliary roll 2 and the passing strip line before pushing, Y: distance between axial center of the hearth roll 1 and the axial center of the auxiliary roll 2). By this method, by applying much tension to outside of the snaked strip 3, the strip is pushed back to correct the snaking. |
