PURPOSE:To improve drivability of a vehicle at stairs etc., by supporting a pair of front and rear shafts (arms) freely for oscillation on the front and rear side of a running unit, controlling them to the lock/free state, and installing a wheel which is driven through a common gear at the end of each shaft. CONSTITUTION:A motor 9 is fixed to each fixed frame 6 attached to the front and rear part of a carriage respectively. At the same time the base edges of a pair of shafts 7 and 8 are supported swingably on coaxial line with the rotary shaft of motor 15, and wheels 4 and 5 are supported rotatably on the other edges of the shafts 7 and 8. Inside of the fixed frame 6, electromagnetic brake 10, 11 to the shafts 7, 8 are fixed. As for wheels 4 and 5, gears 2 and 3 are fixed coaxially, and a gear 1 attatched to the end of the rotary shaft 15 of the motor meshes with the gear 2 and 3. Furthermore electromagnetic brakes 12 and 13 are attatched to the end of each of shafts 7 and 8, and together with above electromagnetic brakes 10 and 11, these brakes control the lock/free state depending on flat road running or off road running. |
