PURPOSE:To enable the synchronous setting of a digital audio to take place at high speed by conforming once the phase of an output of a digital audio reference synchronization generating circuit to the synchronous phase of a reproducing generating digital audio signal when a rotation control system transits from its nonsetting state to its setting state. CONSTITUTION:The title device possesses a servo means 28 for optimizing the rotating speed of a spindle motor to suit the reproducing an FM modulation video signal by a horizontal synchronizing signal comprised in the FM modulation video signal, and also a lock detecting means 39 for detecting the settlement by this servo means 28. When the rotational control on the spindle motor 38 is performed in synchronization with the video signal and the rotation control system transits from the nonsetting state to the setting state, the output of the digital audio reference synchronization generating circuit 33 is once conformed with the synchronization of the reproduced digital audio signal, thus eliminating a phase difference between a synchronous signal of the reproduced digital audio signal and a reference synchronous signal of the digital audio. By this method, the synchronous settlement of the digital audio can hence be speeded up.
