A system for providing warning of vehicle break-ins or theft which, in the event of an alarm, uses the signal transmitters, which are always available in vehicles, to give the alarm, in that the signal transmitters are connected by means of a control device to a power supply via electric alarm circuits which are arranged in parallel with their standard electric circuits and can be connected to the latter at interfaces, has, according to the invention, a control device having an attachment plug which can be inserted into a plug-and-socket connection of the standard electric circuit, the interfaces required between the standard electric circuits and the electric alarm circuits being arranged inside the casing of the said attachment plug.
