PURPOSE:To make obtainable the delicate, sharp pattern, by limiting the clad ratio and the gauge of the stainless steel to be pressure welded to the parent metal of extremely soft extra-low-carbon-steel. CONSTITUTION:The 0.03-0.15mm thick stainless steel, whose thickness ratio against the parent metal is under 12%, is pressure welded to the parent metal constituted of extremely soft extra-low-carbon-steel containing under 0.04% carbon. The stainless face of thus obtained stainless clad steel is faced against the mold face provided with the desired pattern, and then, the air between these two faces is evacuated; after that, the usual explosive forming, etc., is performed in the water, for instance. According to this method, can be obtained the metallic panel provided with the mold pattern, in which the delicate rugged pattern is embossed at a distinct contrast.
