PURPOSE:To obtain three-dimensional graphic data, to which a shading processing is executed, by storing pattern data to the excess area of a (z)-buffer and controlling the writing of color data to a frame memory. CONSTITUTION:The pattern data are stored in the excess area of a (z)-buffer 4 and the read pattern data are obtained as a writing control signal and the writing of the color data to a frame memory 3 is controlled. Thus, it is not necessary to provide a special memory to store the pattern data and the effective using of the memory can be achieved. Further more, the pattern data of an arbitrary type and an arbitrary size can be registered. Further, since it is enough to use the pattern data, which are stored in the (z)-buffer 4, as the writing control signal, the writing speed of the pattern data to the frame memory 3 can be improved and a normal drawing speed can be also improved. |
