<p>PURPOSE:To detect a tracking error with a simple constitution by scanning adjacent two tracks, in which the frequencies of pilot signals are the same, with a pair of magnetic heads, and comparing the levels of the regenerative pilot signals which are simultaneously obtained. CONSTITUTION:At the time of recording, the pilot signals at the two frequencies f1 and f2 are mutually recorded by rotating magnetic heads 11A and 11B at every two tracks on a magnetic tape T, TK11 and TK12, TK21 and TK22.... At the time of reproduction, the two tracks TK11 and TK12, TK21 and TK22... in which the pilot signals are adjacently recorded each other on the magnetic tape T are scanned by a pair of the magnetic heads 11A and 11B, the levels of the pilot signals which are approximately simultaneously obtained from a pair of the magnetic heads 11A and 11B are compared, and the tracking error is detected. Thus, the pilot signals can be reduced to two waves, and the circuit constitution to generate the signals and to detect the tracking error is simplified.</p> |
