<p>PURPOSE:To enable high speed repetition operation and realize low output impedance, by combining a semiconductor switching element, a spark gap, a thyratron, a cross field tube, a tesla type step-up transformer and a pulse compression circuit. CONSTITUTION:A DC power is intermittently supplied to a tesla type step-up transformer T1, by a pulse switching means SW constituted of a semiconductor switching element and the like. Pulse compression circuits A1-A3 are connected in cascade, on the secondary side of the tesla type step-up transformer T1. When the voltage of a capacitor C3 reaches the maximum value VC3max, a saturable inductor SL2 rapidly saturates. The saturation inductance of the saturable inductor SL2 is smaller than that of the saturable inductor SL1. As a result, according to the time constant of a circuit constituted of the capacitor C3, the saturable inductor SL2 and a capacitor C4, the energy stored in the capacitor C3 is effectively delivered to the capacitor C4, and the width of pulse is compressed. By considering the shape of the saturable inductance SL3, its saturation inductance is reduced, so that the output impedance Z out of a power supply equipment can be made equal to or less than 1OMEGA.</p> |
