An apparatus for generating a pressure difference in a pressure chamber of a pneumatic brake servo for use in a vehicle having a Diesel engine, the servo acting between a brake pedal (111) and a braking mechanism (8). The apparatus includes a non-lubrication pump (1, 1') which is connected to an electric motor (2) driven by the electrical power source (4) installed in the vehicle to supply servo fluid pressure. A control circuit (3) is provided between the electrical power source (4) and the motor (2), and the circuit (3) is connected to a pressure detection means (7). The pressure detection means detects a predetermined pressure in the pressure chamber (102a) of the servo (102). Upon detection of a predetermined pressure, the detection means (7) sends signal indicative of the pressure to the control circuit (3), so that the electrical connection between the motor (2) and the power source (4) is shut off.
