A tool, for example a screwdriver, which is designed to be manipulated by turning a handle, has a handle, which is connected to a shank part so as to be fixed in terms of rotation, and a shank part. The shank part and the handle are constructed such that they can be aligned coaxially with one another in a first use position and can be pivoted into a second use position, in which the handle has parts projecting on both sides away from the shank part. Furthermore, the tool has a safety bush which is displaceably seated on the shank part. The safety bush can be brought into engagement, in the first use position, with a first locking device which is arranged on the end face of the handle and at least partly surrounds the shank part. In the second use position, the safety bush can be brought into engagement with a second locking device which is arranged in the handle in the pivoting region of the shank part, in a manner at least partly surrounding the latter.
