PURPOSE:To enable the saving of heat energy to be impressed from a thermal head and to enable the transfer of a coloring material with the impression of low heat energy, by a method wherein a microcapsule containing a material causing a chemical heating reaction as a core material is mixed in a thermal transfer layer by kneading. CONSTITUTION:In a thermal transfer sheet, a thermal transfer layer 8 formed by dispersing in a binder material 7 a microcapsule 5 composed of a core material 3 containing a material causing a chemical heating reaction and a shell 4, and a coloring material 6, is disposed on a sheet-form heat-resistant base 2. The thermal transfer layer 8 can be prepared, for instance, by a method wherein the binder material 7 is dissolved in a solvent, a solution wherein the coloring material 6 is mixed and dispersed is emulsified in relation to water, a water dispersion wherein the microcapsule 5 is dispersed is mixed and dispersed therein, a solution thus prepared is applied on the sheet-form heat-resistant base 2 by a wire bar or the like, and thereafter volatile materials of the water, the solvent, etc., are evaporated. The thermal transfer sheet 1 wherein the microcapsule 5 containing the material causing the chemical heating reaction as the core material 3 is mixed, is improved in terms of recording sensitivity, and thereby recording can be conducted with energy saving. |
