PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration in recording quality at an even number of magnification, by magnifying the thickness of lines in parallel with the main scanning line so as to be the same for the left and right ends, in the recording obtained with doubled number of dots, in a scanner of the reciprocating scanning system. CONSTITUTION:In a laser printer of the system reciprocating a galvano-mirror as a scanning section, a picture stored in a storage section in matrix is started for readout from a half way XX' of the row of the matrix in the direction (c) toward right, the picture data is scanned reciprocatingly on a corresponding recording plane of an image forming drum as c1, c2 to the right end, and the recording is done with doubled number of dots in both the main and sub-scanning directions. Succeedingly, the readout is done toward (d) from the half way XX' of the row of matrix, and the picture data obtained are recorded with doubled number of dots by means of the reciprocating scanning on the corresponding recording plane similarly. In the recording obtained in this way, the lines in parallel with the main scanning line is magnified in the same thickness at both the left and right ends on the recording plane of the image forming drum 1. |
