The proposal is for a piston pump which has at least one cylinder (10) which has a delivery piston (18) and on which at least one inlet valve (21) and one outlet valve (20) for the medium to be delivered are arranged. A branch piece (11), which can be fitted detachably to at least one end of the cylinder (10), has at least two flange connections (14, 19), which can be connected to the inlet valve (21) and the outlet valve (20). With the aid of such branch pieces (11), cylinders (10) and valves (20, 21), it is possible to assemble virtually any number of arrangements of single- or multi-cylinder pumps in single-acting or double-acting configuration in modular fashion, and the locations of the inlet and outlet openings can be varied. <IMAGE>
