The drive apparatus (1) contains a toothed chainwheel (2) which is rotatable about a tread track axle (A), has different radii and is fixedly connected to the tread track axle (A). Furthermore, two tread tracks (3a, 3b) are present on both sides of the toothed chainwheel (2), one of the tread tracks likewise being fixedly connected to the tread track axle (A). Fixedly connected to the other side of the tread track axle (A) is a coupling lever (5) on the free end of which the other tread track, which is constructed so as to be angular, is rotatably mounted in its apex region. The free end of the bent-off leg (3a', 3b') of this tread track is rotatably fastened, by means of a bearing (S2, L2), on the bearing bush (11), the centre (D) of which is offset in the horizontal direction with respect to the centre (T) of the tread track axle (A). <IMAGE>
