APPARATUS FOR CONTINUOUS CASTING

PURPOSE:To uniformize the quality of a cast billet and to reduce the cost by arranging stirring member in a mold, arranging molten metal receiver penetrating the inner part thereof and mechanically and mutually rotating the stirring member to the mold. CONSTITUTION:The water cooled mold 3 is arranged at the lower part of a molten metal pouring hole in a tundish 1 and the stirring member 4 providing the molten metal receiver 8 in the inner part thereof is arranged as rotatable. The molten metal receiver 8 is faced to the molten metal pouring hole 2 in the tundish 1 at the upper end and opened into the molten metal in the mold 3 at the lower end. The stirring member 4 is rotated with a rotating motor 10 and also at the time of supplying the molten metal in the tundish 1 into the molten metal receiver 8, the molten metal in the mold 3 is sent to a forming device 21 after dendritic crystal is perfectly crushed. By this method, as the molten metal is sent to the forming device as uniform metal slurry, the quantity of the cast billet is uniformized. As the power consumption is reduced, the cost of the cast billet is reduced.
