PURPOSE:An automobile-used hydraulic shock absorber which can freely vary the characteristic of damping force by turning a plate to match an orifice with an oil passage different in interior diameter. CONSTITUTION:When a tool is plugged into a bracket 40, an adjusting member 50 is turned to disengage a convex 63 of an adjusting spring 60 from a concave 51 and engage the convex 63 with another concave 52. With an orifice plate 31 turned by the rotation of an operating shaft 30, the orifices b1, b2 made in the plate 31 are unchanged to be opposed to a groove 26A shaped on the valve body 21 and, an orifice b4 changed from an orifice b3 opens to pass through the groove 26B. The sectional areas of those orifices limit flow rate to provide various damping force. |
