This invention provides an image-forming material suitable for use in an image transfer process which comprises a substrate and a photosensitive layer, optionally having a protective film, the photosensitive layer comprising a dye or pigment and a photopolymerizable compound, wherein the photosensitive layer comprises two or more layers, the dye or pigment being contained in at least one of those layers but being absent from the layer in direct contact with the substrate, the image forming material being such that upon imagewise exposure the exposed areas and unexposed areas differ in their adhesion to a receptor and image transfer occurs through a breakaway separator within the layer in direct contact with the substrate.
