A process is provided for converting propylene to isopropyl alcohol which comprises contacting water with a feed containing at least a substantial amount of propylene at a mole ratio of water to propylene of less than about 1 in the vapour and/or liquid phase under propylene hydration conditions in the presence of acidic zeolite ZSM-35 as propylene hydration catalyst to produce said isopropyl alcohol.
