<p>In order to provide a process for determining pulse currents in lightning conductors, overvoltage arresters or the like, by means of which an indication is given very easily in a cost-effective manner that an overvoltage event has taken place, it is proposed that data are stored on a magnetisable data carrier, the data carrier is arranged in the region of an electrical conductor through which the pulse current flows when the event occurs in which, when the event occurs, a magnetic field is generated, the data are periodically or aperiodically read out and the occurrence of an event as well as the intensity of the strongest event is determined from the quantity and distribution of the data remaining on the data carrier. <IMAGE></p> |
