PURPOSE:To obtain the title substances from a produced oil in good yield at a low cost without any problems of waste treatment, by recovering n-paraffins from a hydrogenated and desulfurized kerosine fraction and subjecting the resultant raffinate to cyclodehydrogenation reaction to provide the above- mentioned oil. CONSTITUTION:n-Paraffins are recovered and removed from a hydrogenated and desulfurized kerosene fraction at 70-95% recovery ratio and the resultant raffinate is then subjected to cyclodehydrogenation reaction to afford a produced oil. Methylnaphthalenes with extremely low contents of S and N compounds are subsequently obtained from the resultant produced oil in good yield. The cyclodehydrogenation reaction is carried out at 400-550 deg.C, 0.1-3/hr liquid hourly space velocity(LHSV) and 0.5-10 molar ratio of hydrogen/oil under 1-100kg/cm<2> using a catalyst carrying, e.g., Pt or further rhenium, Ge, Sn, Ir or Ru on alumina as a carrier. |
