PURPOSE:To maintain a measuring accuracy regardless of a change in a gas flow to be measured, by providing a gas introduction port at a position not opposed to a sensing section of a sensor element at a metal cover while a gas is turned with a guide plate in a fixed direction within the cover. CONSTITUTION:A planar sensor element 2 having a sensing section 1 for detecting a gas to be measured at a broad section is covered with a metal cover 3. Gas inlets 5-1-5-8 composed of eight guide plates 4-1-4-8 are arranged at positions not opposed to the sensing section 1 provided at the tip of the sensor element 2 of the metal cover 3 and a gas outlet 6 on a tip face of the cover 3. With such an arrangement, the gas is kept from directly hitting the sensing section 1 while making a spiral flow in a fixed direction. Thus, the flow of the gas for the sensing section 1 is always kept constant thereby securing a measuring accuracy. |
