<p>PURPOSE:To achieve a diagnosis of deterioration in a wire cable used under the environment of radiation at a low cost with a simple construction, by compounding an optical fiber and an amino acid radiation dosimeter to be formed into a long-sized shape. CONSTITUTION:An optical fiber 1 with a circular cross-section for detecting temperature and an amino acid radiation dosimeter element 2 having a circular cross-section with a polymer as a binder are compounded to form a filament or the amino acid radiation dosimeter 2 is formed coaxially on the circumference of the optical fiber 1 for detecting temperature. In addition, the element is formed into a cord, tape, bar, cylinder, tube or sheet and a protective film 3 is provided on the circumference thereof through a protective portion 3' or a gap to make a cable. The temperature of the cable is measured from a change in the intensity of a back scattered light component with respect to an incident light. The temperature/radiation detecting cables 10 and 20 are laid along the installation of a wire cable under the environment of radiation of a nuclear power plant or the like. This achieves a deterioration diagnosis of a wire cable inexpensively with a simple construction.</p> |
