PURPOSE:To simplify the switching mechanism and to shorten the switching time by moving a second optical connector as it is in parallel in front of a third optical connector from a position where said second optical connector has been connected to a first optical connector, and by closely connecting the connecting face of the second optical connector to the one of the third optical connector. CONSTITUTION:Front cylindrical parts 7, 17 of the first and the third optical connectors are fitted into insertion holes 5, 15 from rear parts 6, 16 of a fixed base, respectively, collar parts 8, 18 of the connector abuts on the rear parts 6, 16 of the fixed base 4, and a connecting surface 19 of the third optical connector is placed in the rear by a portion corresponding to the projection length from a connecting surface 9 of the first optical connector. In this state, the second optical connector 2 is moved as it is in parallel in front of the third optical connector 3 from a connecting position to the first optical connector 1. Subsequently, the second optical connector 2 is advanced and a connecting face of the second optical connector 2 is allowed to come in contact closely with the connecting face of the third optical connector 3 and connected. In such a way, a collision of the tip of the optical connector does not occur and switching is executed smoothly, and also, the switching mechanism is simplified, and the switching time is shortened. |
