Fuel injection pump for internal combustion engines with a plurality of pump elements (2; 3) arranged in series, the start and/or end of whose delivery is actuated by a respective control slide valve (9) axially displacable on the pump piston (3) and by controlling relief ducts (22 - 25) of the pump working chambers (18). The control slide valves (9) are operated via a torsion shaft (12), the control slide valves (9) being axially displaced via carrier arms (15), which are fixed to the torsion shaft (12), when the torsion shaft (12) turns.
