PURPOSE:To improve focusing accuracy by providing a mechanism to set the distance between a light emitting side lens and a light emitting element and the spacing between a light receiving lens and a light receiving element at the adequate distances corresponding to a subject distance cooperatively with a main lens. CONSTITUTION:This device is so constituted that the spacing between the light emitting side lens 1 and the light emitting element 8 or between the light receiving lens 2 and the light receiving element 7 is changed by moving the light emitting side lens 1 or the light receiving side lens 2 cooperatively with the focus position of a photographing lens. Namely, the focus is kept always matched to the subject by movement of the light emitting side and light receiving lenses 1, 2 according to the subject distance, by which the flare by the out-of-focus component is eliminated and the smaller and sharper light receiving spot is obtd. on the light receiving element 7. The focusing accuracy of the automatic focusing device is thereby improved. |
