PURPOSE:To produce the title composite powder capable of fully exhibiting the characteristics of both the powder to be plated and the plating material powder with easy operation by heating the wet mixture of the powder to be plated and fine plating material powder. CONSTITUTION:Heat-resistant org. compds., inorg. compds. or ceramics are used as the powder to be plated, and powdery copper oxide, iron oxide, or copper carbonate, etc., are used as the plating material powder. When graphite powder as the former and copper oxide powder as the latter are used, for example, and the surface of the graphite powder is plated with copper, a specified amt. of graphite powder is firstly wetted with a small amt. of water. Fine copper oxide powder is then added to the wetted powder and sufficiently mixed, and the obtained mixed powder is thermally decomposed and reduced by a reducing gas such as H2. By this method, the composite powder dispersedly coated with copper powder and wherein the copper powder is firmly stuck to the surface of the graphite powder can be obtained. |
