The balustrade for a passenger conveyor includes a glass panel (6), an inner deck cover (20) located insided the panel, an outer deck cover (11) located outside the panel, and a packing (21) mounted between the panel and the inner and outer deck covers. The packing is integral, formed of bard material, and is formed with a groove (21b) for receiving a lower end of the panel, and grooves (21c,21a) for receiving end portions of the inner and outer deck covers. The packing is bolted to a support bed (5) on its side while holding the glass panel at its lower portion.
