The method is for mfg. a spatially formed multi layer explosive shell protective textile in particular, as an inlay between the inner and outer shell of a helmet. Most of the layers comprise two adjacently connected textile segments and the segments are sewn together to form a spatial form, corresp. to the shape of the protectiveelement. The already formed layers are sewn together pref. by one or more stitched seams near the periphery of the edges near the protective element. Part of the seams or seam is /are laid along a segment connection line before sticking of the layers together, pref. at a distance from this line. A woven strip is joined and sewn around theedgeson both sides of the element.
