PURPOSE:To eliminate white lead in a cathode plate and to obtain a uniform lead-acid battery by using a cathode plate in which the content of PbSO4 is controlled to 25+ or -5% by immersing in an ammonium persulfate aqueous solution. CONSTITUTION:To increase the formation efficiency of a cathode plate, an active material is filled in a grid, then this grid is immersed in a 0.25-1.0M ammonium persulfate aqueous solution for 5 minutes to 3 hours, and aging is conducted to obtain an unformed cathode plate in which the content of PbSO4 is controlled to 25+ or -5%. By using this unformed cathode plate, even if the amount of electrolyte per one gram of cathode active material is 0.6ml, formation is sufficiently conducted. By controlling the specific gravity of an electrolyte poured and its pouring amount, the supplement of the electrolyte or the removing of excess electrolyte is unnecessary. The content of PbSO4 in the cathode plate formed by in container formation is increased and the utilization factor of the cathode plate is increased 5-10%. |
