PURPOSE:To obtain a recording material having favorable color forming properties and stability of developed color images by incorporating a specified salicylic acid derivative or a metallic salt thereof as an electron-acceptive compound. CONSTITUTION:A salicylic acid derivative or a metallic salt thereof, of formula I, is incorporated as an electron-acceptive compound. In the formula, R is a divalent group, X is hydrogen, an alkyl, phenyl, alkoxyl or halogen, M is an n-valent metal, and n is an integer. The salicylic acid derivative can be easily obtained by, for example, bringing a salicylic acid derivative having a chloromethyl group and a phenol derivative into reaction. At least one such salicylic acid derivative or metallic salt thereof is used singly or in combination, in the state of a finely dispersed material or minute droplets, for a recording material. |
