PURPOSE:To minimize the time for maintenance and inspection by providing a storing means for storing specific messages and a recording means which alternatively records original images or messages stored in the storing means. CONSTITUTION:A CPU601 carries out the image converting process dealing with digital images. For this image converting process, for example, the CPU601 carriers out the processes of image converting of character codes inputted from an interface circuit by a CGROM605 and inputting to an image memory 604, extracting specific information such as specific letters or specific colors from the image memory 604 which records images, and recording the extracted specific information in an add-on RAM606. The image memory 604 has inputted directly image data read by a CCD image reading control circuit and directly outputs image data read by a unit control circuit 800. Thus the time for maintenance and inspection of recording characteristics particular to the device itself can be minimized and a through maintenance and inspection can be carried out. |
