PURPOSE:To implement high accuracy, by constituting a light emitting element with a semiconductor chip and a board, on which said semiconductor chip is mounted, forming a small hole in the board, and arranging the semiconductor chip on the inner side of the small hole, wherein the light emitting surface of the semiconductor chip is located at the opposite side with respect to the opening surface of the small hole. CONSTITUTION:A small hole 10, which is opened at the upper surface of a board 1, is provided as a recess part in the board 2. A semiconductor chip 4 is arranged in the small hole 10. A light emitting surface 4a of the semiconductor chip 4 is positioned lower than the opening surface of the small hole 10. Thus, the part of the emitted light from the side surface of the semiconductor chip 4 hits the inner surface side of the small hole 10. Therefore, unnecessary reflected light and scattering light are removed, and accurate distance measurement can be performed. |
