Universal profile gauge for checking welds - has calibration discs which can be matched against gauged profile

The gauge has a housing (1) which contains a row of narrow spring-loaded needles (5), the ends of which can be pressed against the profile surface of the weld. The other ends of the needles show a similar profile through a window on the front of the housing. One of a range of calibrated discs can be inserted behind the upper ends of the pins and used to check whether the profile is correct and meets pre-determined standards. It is equally suitable for checking flat welds or ones at angles, inside or outside a framework.
