The clutch limiter has a flange plate attached to the flange of a drive shaft, and a flanged bush which can be connected to a driven shaft. A clutch limiter is disposed on the flange plate and blush. The flange plate has a number of tapered recesses in which the sprung balls (16) on the clutch limiter are received which are engaged in springy bushes. These are provided in a carrier plate connected to the flange bush. A slide shaft (26) extends through the spring (15) and is pushed against the associated ball by a slide shaft spring (28). The slide shafts are joined by a linking ring (30). The flange plate and bush are relatively rotatable about a rigide centre shaft, which has ball bearings for rotatably supporting the carrier plate.
